December Info.

December is shaping up to be a busy month for us here in kindergarten! We will spend the next several weeks learning about Holidays Around the World, and this experience will culminate with a holiday concert on Thursday, December 17th from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the H.C.S. gymnasium. We will follow this concert with a small reception in each kindergarten classroom from 1:15 until 1:30 or 2:00. We hope that you all can join us to hear your children sing the many holiday songs that they have been practicing during our unit!

Families often ask about holiday gifts at this time of year. We recognize that the current economic climate is a challenging one for many families and we hope that you do not feel in any way obligated to send in holiday gifts. If you do wish to send a gift in, classroom gifts are a great option, as we all are able to benefit from and enjoy them! Some ideas for useful classroom items are:

Arts and craft supplies (i.e. glitter, markers, etc.)

Kleenex

Cotton balls

Story books

Board games

Dress up clothes (old clothes)

Card games

Drawing paper

Baby dolls and/or doll clothes

Colored paper

Toy cars

Play dough

Stencils

Gently used toys that your children have outgrown

These are only suggestions. If you have other ideas, feel free to use them instead! If you choose to send a gift in, please wrap it and put a tag on it with your child's name so that we know who it is from. We always have lots of fun opening exciting new things for our classroom!

We will be celebrating the holiday season with a small party on Wednesday, December 23rd (the day before the holiday break begins). If you are able to send in a treat for us to share at this celebration, please sign up at the link below. Thank you in advance for all of your support in helping to make this holiday celebration a special one for your children!
